The Institute was made possible by a generous donation by Dr. Norman
Levan, distinguished Bakersfield physician and USC Medical School emeritus
professor of medicine.
The primary mission of the Institute is to provide educational services in order
to enrich the lives of those aged 55 and over.
This mission will be accomplished by offering a wide variety of courses and
programs intended to be interesting, useful, or, preferably, both.
Currently, the courses and programs are in the planning stage. We expect that
our first session will be no later than fall 2008 and may be earlier.
