Statement from Bakersfield College on Litigation Status

Monday, March 3, 2014

On March 3, 2014, a story in The Bakersfield Californian incorrectly published information regarding Bakersfield College's litigation against the CCCAA for sanctions to Bakersfield College's athletics department. Bakersfield College released the following statement:

The following statement regarding an article in today's The Bakersfield Californian regarding the status of Bakersfield College's litigation against the CCCAA may be attributed to Amber Chiang, spokesperson, Bakersfield College. “To paraphrase Mark Twain: the reports of the death of Bakersfield College's legal effort have been greatly exaggerated. Contrary to an earlier report in the Monday edition of The Bakersfield Californian, Bakersfield College's legal effort against the CCCAA has not been dismissed. The judge has taken the CCCAA's challenge to the complaint under advisement, and has not yet ruled on the matter.”
