2024-2025 FAFSA
From the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships, we would like to inform all Renegades the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available to students by December 31, 2023. We are all pleased to inform all of you of its expected arrival. We are waiting for the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) to provide us with a date for the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) to inform students of its availability.
Since the 2024-2025 FAFSA isn’t currently available, students can still prepare by doing the following:
- Create an FSA ID on the Federal Student Aid website and assist contributors, such as parent(s) or spouse, in creating an FSA ID.
- An FSA ID is an account and password giving access to the Federal Student Aid’s online system and serves as the student’s electronic signature.
- With the FSA ID, the student can fill out the FAFSA when it’s available, sign the Master Promissory Note (MPN), apply for repayment plans, complete loan counseling, and use the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Help Tool.
- If the student already has an FSA ID, there is no need to create a new one. The existing FSA ID will continue to work.
- For an estimate of the federal financial aid for 2024-2025, students can use the Federal Student Aid Estimator on the Federal Student Aid website. This tool estimates the Student Aid Index (SAI) for 2024-2025 and the federal aid for which you may qualify.
We have financial aid workshops available at Bakersfield College’s Welcome Center, including scholarship workshops for the 2023-2024 academic year and we will have them for the 2024-2025 academic year as well for all financial aid program applications.
